Who is Bosch?

The Bosch Group is technology based company that provides goods and services in many industries, with their primary focus being on the automotive and home appliance industries.

Bosch was founded in 1886 by Robert Bosch and is now one of the largest service providers working with almost all of the current automotive manufacturers in the world.

The group is also a giant in the home appliance arena as their lines of power tools are sold across the world in major home improvement and department stores providing the DIY crowd as well as the professional community with brand name tools like Bosch, Skil, and Dremel.

The Bosch Drills:

Bosch offers their line of drills with 2 main features; whether a drill is corded or not, and what chuck size the drills are.

For Your Knowledge:

The chuck size determines the size of the bit that can be placed in the drill. The 3/8” drill should be capable of any bit you would use at home. But -if you are looking for a professional drill a 1/2” chuck is recommended as it will allow for greater bit sizes and it will have a more powerful motor to turn the larger bits.

Bosch Cordless Drills:

The Bosch line of cordless drill consists of 14 different drills ranging in voltage from 12 volts all the way up to 36 volts. The drills are split into 2 categories: 1/2” chuck or 3/8” chuck. The 1/2” chuck sized drill is the more popular option as it allows for greater application, but the 3/8” Bosch drill is perfectly capable of completely most DIY tasks.

Bosch Corded Drills:

Working at home generally doesn’t require the power of a full sized corded drill and let’s face it, the just are as convenient. But for those heavy duty jobs you really need that extra power, which is why there is a full lineup of corded Bosch drills. Just like the cordless drills Bosch has split them into categories by chuck size. The 1/2” chuck for the real heavy duty jobs, and 3/8” for the rest.
